i was on a break...

okay. pretty pathetic that i took such a long break after just having started my blog. i wasn't able to blog while my sister was in town...either too busy, too tired or the fear of interruption by house guests looming over me cramped my blogging motivation. hope this break is not a sign of things to come, lol.

i am not sure why this didn't compute until today, but i just realized that school starts 8/22. i feel almost panicky...i have so much i still want to do with my kiddos before school starts. this year they will both be in school all day...and that alone brings a sense of panic. joey will proudly be in first grade and natalie starts kindergarten.  i am NOT ready for this!! i know some parents can't wait for school to start and can't wait to have the house to themselves again...but i will miss them. it will be strange having no one with me until 2:30. trust me that i will have plenty to do and occupy my time, but it will be sad for me (at least in the beginning).

i plan on crossing some fun kid "summer to-do's" off my list this week...with some extra anxiety now that i realize i have less time then i had realized. we won two movie tickets so i plan on taking the kids for their first experience watching a movie in a theatre. not too many are appropriate for their age...winnie the pooh or cars 2...they picked winnie the pooh.  i thought is was kinda sweet that they would still pick that one.

visit from my sister

i am trying to get things figured out here in the blog world. i kinda feel like a freshman in high school on the first day of school...intimidated by all the upper class confidence. just trying to find my way. i will get there, slowly but surely.

my sister is coming into town from georgia on saturday. so excited to see her!! her daughter is only 6 days younger then my son...we were pregnant at the same exact time and didn't even know each other was trying to get pregnant...when i called her to tell her i was pregnant...she asked when i was due and i said december 24...and she said "that is two weeks before my due date"...dead pause...followed by screaming!!! she was due jan 6.  i ended up having my son 12/21 and she had her daughter 12/27. craziness for the grandparents!!! anyway, she is coming for a visit and we are all thrilled to see them!! the time always flies when they are here so we will try and soak up all the goodness of sisterhood and cousinhood in the short time we are allotted.

not a fan of this font either...am i a font snob? just not liking the selection i have. maybe it will look different when this posts. but i suppose if that is my biggest complaint of the day, i am pretty lucky, eh?

i got my first comment yesterday...i felt giddy!! is that normal?? a comment from a complete stranger made my day. cheap thrills from blogland...bring it on!!

no longer just a stalker

it has taken me quite some time to get this blog together. i think i got it some time in 2010. did nothing with it. now i am thinking of trying to do more with it. we will see how that goes. i love reading other blogs and learning so much from other bloggers...i guess i just don't think my life experience or my place in this world is anything but average, thus not contributing anything extravagant to the blog world. again, we will see how that goes. for now, i am officially entering my first post...whoowhoo! i already am getting a rash from this font. the "behind the scenes" blog stuff is a little challenging for this low key techno girl...but hopefully i can handle a font change?! wish me luck!
